Create and manipulate time stretched audio clips with the Zplane elastique time stretch.
The elastique plug-in is a time stretch effect for Sony created in zplane, the same developer of the vocal effects Vocalist and Songbird. The difference is that the elastique works on waveform audio not pitch or note waveforms.
Elastique time stretch works by adjusting the duration of audio to be a multiple of the original audio. Elastique will use two techniques to accomplish this. First is to apply the pitch shift algorithm. With this, the elastique plug-in will cut the audio to the nearest octave and then pitch shift it in a similar manner as Songbird.
The second technique is to stretch the audio clip to the nearest multiple of a standard audio file. This is accomplished with the "timestretch" algorithm in the Elastique plug-in.
The elastique plug-in is particularly useful for audio that does not have any sort of quantization artifact. A good example of this would be audio recorded on a good quality vinyl records. The elastique effect was meant to be an alternative to the Pitch shift found in Vocalist and Songbird.

Resonant Filter is a common audio effect and used by multiple music production tools. Elastique Pro implements the Resonant Filter effect.
In the elastique Pro plug-in, the Resonant Filter has been implemented using the Resampler plug-in.
With this method of using the Resonant Filter, the elastique Pro plug-in now has complete control of the Resonant Filter while being able to pre-set the Resonant Filter with a cut and paste method to create the effects of multiple Resonant Filters in one audio clip.
